Nick & Sam Build Another

In late 2008, Nick, Sam, and Executive Chef Luis Ruiz took over the old Strong's Everyday Tavern and, finally, revamped the scene to fit the location. Granted I've spent more time recently in Nick & Sam's Grill than Strongs, I've frequented the Tavern enough over the years to be convinced of this.
Nick & Sam's Grill is a smart dinner destination to start the weekend. The menu is pretty straightforward. Try the “Grown Up” Grilled Cheese or “Damn Good” Fries, two selections that basically speak for themselves. On Sundays, NSG adheres to an increasingly popular Uptown philosophy - bottomless mimosas and brunch benedicts. We tried the conventional “Grill” Benedict (smoked ham, spinach, cheddar biscuit an hollandaise) and the sweeter Banana Foster Pancakes (carmelized bananas and fresh strawberries). Both meals were flavorful, although the pancake richness kept me limited to ~3-4 bites.
The atmosphere definitely caters to weekend patio dwellers. In this neighborhood, it's a place to be seen, so avoid NSG if you just need quick sustenance after a night of drinking. If you decide, however, you'd still like to go, just wear sunglasses inside…you won't be the only one.
Ask for Tadine, a solid waitress.
