Phantogram and Sex is in the Air.
Bobbed hair swinging back and forth. She's soft and smooth. Her name is Sarah Barthel of Phantogram, and she and guitar counterpart Josh Carter, rolled through another highly-anticipated tour across the States. We had the pleasure of checking them out at Dallas' own, The Loft.
Barthel and Josh Carter had the room at a stand still, strumming through cuts from their debut album, Eyelid Movies. They ranged from "Let Me Go", the favored "Mouthful of Diamonds", and the more recent "Don't Move" tracks. Her twangy, twitchy stage presence and breathy vocals make her an incredibly unique act. The performance was sexy cool, with a hint o' darkness. Check out the album here.
Together, Josh and Sarah brought it. A Phantogram show is one that fits perfectly with The Loft's intimate, ethereal vibe. The quarters were close and the audience was into it.
Phantogram. Do it. If you haven't already.
