Daniel Hart Hits El Sibil

EL SIBIL--
Daniel Hart is a pretty big deal. In fact, he might just be the biggest deal you haven't heard of. His touring resume reads like any progressive indie playlist: St. Vincent, the Polyphonic Spree, Broken Social Scene, and the Rosebuds to name a few. His future looks equally promising as he prepares for a stint with Other Lives, opening for Radiohead as part of their spring tour (including the Coachella dates). Even in the midst of such a distinguished career, perhaps the most impressive thing about Daniel is his own music. In his latest album, The Orientalist (produced by Jim Eno of Spoon and Annie Clark of St. Vincent), Hart invokes a sound that alludes to his travels in the Far East. The violinist/singer's eclectic style is inviting and theatrical. His lyrics are written with a crooked grin + midwestern style. He is currently on a mini-tour through Texas and will be gracing Oak Cliff with a live performance at El Sibil tonight, which is rare considering that Hart lives between the studio and the road. Check out The Orientalist at his Bandcamp site. It speaks for itself.
