Strawberry Rum Balls

Make The Jam:

^{-4 cups crushed strawberries (about 2 quart boxes)}

^{-4 cups of sugar}

^Directions:

^{Mix. Bring to full boil, stirring constantly until thick. Remove heat & skim. Put in container and cap, process 5 min. in boiling water bath.}

Make The Balls:

^{-3 tbs light corn syrup}

^{-1-6 ounce bag of semisweet chocolate chips}

^{-1/2 cup dark rum or bourbon}

^{-dash of cinnamon & nutmeg}

^{-2.5 cups vanilla-wafer crumbs (run them through a food processor to get the right consistency)}

^{-1/2 cup sugar}

^{-1 cup chopped walnuts (or whatever nut you prefer)}

^Directions:

^{Melt the chocolate in a saucepan over low heat. Add the corn syrup and liquor and stir. Take the pan off the heat and add the rest of the ingredients. Mix everything together and let it sit for about 30 minutes until firm. Form the mixture into balls and roll them through the sugar. Make them a few days in advance. On day of serving, pour hot jam on your rum balls.}
